What an amazing week we had in Scarborough!
We railed, sailed, walked, laughed, danced, and made memories to last a lifetime — right up until we couldn’t go anymore!
A huge thank you to Helen for organising another fantastic trip, and to all the amazing staff and volunteers who worked so hard to keep everyone happy and safe
And yes… we even managed a cheeky game of Domino Bingo!!!

The Fred Hodson Suite
Wednesday the 8th of April was a truly special day at Pearey House as we celebrated the grand opening of the Fred Hodson Suite.
Fred was Manager here from 1976 to 2011, and in that time he made a lasting difference to so many lives. Thanks to a very generous bequest in his will, his kindness and dedication will continue to benefit others for years to come.
The new suite is a fully insulated, double-glazed space with heating, lighting, and a kitchen area with a fridge—providing a warm, welcoming place for our members to come together, whatever the weather. It will also be used as accommodation for visiting family members, making it a truly valuable addition to Pearey House.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening. Special thanks to Fred’s nieces, Jane and Sue, for officially opening the suite, to Caroline from I Love North Shields for coming along to capture the occasion, and to Helen and the team for making it all happen.
A proud and memorable moment for us all.
